The Metroid Queen is the final stage that a Metroid can went through. It is a large and powerful type of Metroid. This can be seen by the fact that it serves as the final boss of the first game it appeared in, Metroid II: Return of Samus. While it is able to produce more Metroids, it isn't the only way, seeing that the Space Pirates too have found ways to make more of them. The Metroid Queens are featured in Metroid II: Return of Samus, its remake: Metroid: Samus Returns, and Metroid: Other M.

History

The Queen of SR388

The first known Queen Metroid resided in the depth of SR388, in a ruined Chozo palace. She was the final Metroid that Samus destroyed during her extermination mission to the planet since she took the last Metroid with her as she left rather than killing it, this Metroid would later be nicknamed "The Baby" by Samus.

The Queen of the "BOTTLE SHIP"

In Metroid: Other M, the Galactic Federation created clone of "The Baby" by using the DNA left on Samus' Power Suit following her confrontation with Mother Brain in Super Metroid however, Melissa Bergman would help the first Metroid created by the Galactic Federation to reach this stage of development. This queen was stored in Room MW of the BOTTLE SHIP station and was unleashed on Samus by scientists that believe that Samus is here to silence Madeline Bergman.

  • NA:Have you ever met people who thought Metroid was the name of the game's heroine? Adding Queen to the title would just make it worse. But if you show them what a Queen Metroid REALLY looks like, they won't make that mistake again in a hurry. Metroids are fearsome creatures, and the queen is the nastiest of the lot.
