NHL 2005 is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the GameCube. It is licensed by the National Hockey League and its Player's Association.

Plot[]

The game is based on the 2004–2005 international ice hockey season.

Gameplay[]

The game supports up to 4 players simultaneously and uses 59 blocks on the GameCube Memory Card.

Along with the full length seasons, this game includes the World Cup of Hockey tournament and it's teams and rosters. Also available are some of the old defunct teams such as the old Winnipeg Jets, Atlanta Flames and Quebec Nordiques. There is also an exclusive "open ice control" which gives the player greater control of all the skaters during gameplay.

As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.

Teams[]

All the 30 NHL teams from that year appear in the game.
