NHL 2K11 is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Wii and is part of the NHL 2K series. It is licensed by the National Hockey League and its Player's Association.

Gameplay

The gameplay is very similar to it's predecessor NHL 2K10, utilizing the Wii MotionPlus. Mii's could also be used in certain gameplay options including "Road to the Cup". Swinging the Wii Remote indicates a pass or shot, while the Nunchuk is used for bodychecking. The game includes better AI and even some minor touches like broken sticks.

While a mobile version was eventually released for Apple devices, the game was not released for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 nor Xbox 360, making it an exclusive game for the Wii.

As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.

Teams

All 30 NHL teams appear in the game.

Box art

The box art for the game is a shot of Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks.
