Nintendo World Cup is an NES soccer video game released in 1990, and later on the Game Boy in 1991. It is one of the few video games with the name "Nintendo" in the title.

The game follows most of the standard rules of the sport, though with some differences, such as an alteration of the amount of players on a court at one time, and other rules that probably couldn't be processed on the console, thereby making the game simpler than soccer games released nowadays.

In Japan, the game was called Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball-bu Soccer-hen. It was the soccer version Technos Japan's Kunio-kun series, having brawling antics the series is known for.

Gameplay

While on offense, the player can either pass the ball or tell another teamate to pass the ball to them by pressing the a button. The b button will cause the player to try to shoot the ball in the goal, or will tell one of your other teamates to try and make the shot. If you press both buttons at the same time, you'll either do a bicycle kick shot (if you're standing still) or a head but shot (if you're moving).
