Nintendo World Cup is a soccer video game for the NES and the Game Boy. It is a localization of Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball-bu Soccer-hen(JP), the fourth game in Technos Japan's Kunio-kun series.

The game follows most of the standard rules of the sport, though with some differences, such as an alteration of the amount of players on a court at one time, and other rules that probably couldn't be processed on the console, thereby making the game simpler than soccer games released nowadays.

Plot[]

Gameplay[]

While on offense, the player can either pass the ball or tell another teamate to pass the ball to them by pressing the a button. The b button will cause the player to try to shoot the ball in the goal, or will tell one of your other teamates to try and make the shot. If you press both buttons at the same time, you'll either do a bicycle kick shot (if you're standing still) or a head but shot (if you're moving).
