|Baby Bowser||Baby Bowser first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. He is basically the younger version of King Bowser, as the game takes place in the past.|
|Baby Luigi||The baby version of Luigi. He first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island where he was kidnapped by Kamek and Baby Bowser. He would later on be a playable character in games such as Mario Kart: Double Dash‼ and Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.|
|Baby Mario||The baby version of Mario. He first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island where he and Yoshi went off to save Baby Luigi.|
|Birdo||Birdo first appeared in Doki Doki Panic, a non-Mario game. However, the character would later appear in the remake of the game which did in-fact feature Mario characters, and would then be a playable character in other games.|
|Bowser||The primary antagonist of the series, first appearing in Super Mario Bros. In almost every game in the paramount series he kidnaps Princess Peach.|
|Bowser Jr.||Bowser's son, presumably the youngest of his eight known ones. He made his debut in Super Mario Sunshine.|
|Princess Daisy||Daisy first appeared in Super Mario Land where she was the damsel in distress. She was kidnapped by Tatanga and would later be rescued by Mario. She is the ruler of Sarassaland and later appeared in Mario spinoffs.|
|Geno||One of the most popular Mario-RPG characters. He first appeared in Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.|
|King Boo||The antagonist of Luigi's Mansion and a boss in other titles as well such as Super Mario Sunshine. The Boo is, as his name implies, the king over all the Boos.|
|Luigi||One of the protagonists of the Mario series, and Mario's twin brother. He first appeared in Mario Bros.. He has a few characteristics that contradict Mario's, such as being a bit cowardly, wearing green clothing, being taller and basically looking a bit different, among other features.|
|Mario||The paramount protagonist of the series, and unarguably the most popular video game character. He's Nintendo's mascot and has been dubbed "Mr. Video Game". He first appeared in Donkey Kong on the arcades as Jumpman, though would later be known as Mario.|
|Pauline||The first damsel in distress in the series, first appearing in Donkey Kong. She would later resurface with the release of Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis.|
|Princess Peach||One of the more popular characters in the series. She first appeared in Super Mario Bros. where she was kidnapped by Bowser as she was the only one who was capable of reversing his black magic which he cast upon the land of the Mushroom Kingdom. She is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and the most notable damsel in distress in not only the series, but probably in all of gaming.|
|Professor Elvin Gadd||A scientist who first appeared in Luigi's Mansion. He's created various inventions throughout the Mario series, such as a time machine, the Poltergust 3000, and various doo-dads in Mario Party Advance.|
|Rosalina||The princess who appeared in Super Mario Galaxy. She wasn't a "damsel-in-distress", but was rather the operator of the Observatory and the "mother" of the Luma.|
|Toad||The loyal servant of Princess Peach who does his best to protect her though he is often kidnapped as much as she is. Toad made his debut appearance in Super Mario Bros. as one of the Mushroom Retainers though his true debut was in Super Mario Bros. 2 as a playable character. Toad is also the name of the species that the character belongs to and they all appear very similar in appearance as the character Toad as well.|
|Waluigi||A greedy character who first appeared in Mario Tennis where he was a friend or cousin of Wario's. Not much is known about the character's history.|
|Wario||A character whose greediness gets him into a lot of trouble. He is unarguably one of the most famous characters in the series, and his first game appearance - Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, was just the starting point. He would later get his own series of video games that ranged from platformers to mini-game titles.|
|Yoshi||The lovable dinosaur who first appeared in Super Mario World, where he would assist Mario and Luigi on their quest to save Dinosaur Island and the princess. His abilities were so popular that he got his own series of games.|
|Epona||Link's trusty steed who first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.|
|Ganon (dorf)||Ganon is the primary antagonist of the series. He lusts to have power over the world and attempts to do so through his quest to come in possession of the triforce shards.|
|Link||The silent protagonist of the series. He first appeared in The Legend of Zelda. There are multiple incarnations of Link, though all of them take on a simple set of clothing which consists of a green tunic. In the series he is known as the Hero of Time or the Hero of Winds.|
|Tingle||An odd creature who first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, where he would do nothing more than sell Link maps. He would later become an either popular or hated character throughout the series, even getting a game of his own.|
|Princess Zelda||Princess Zelda is the ruler over Hyrule. She has appeared in some form in every Zelda game, though like Link there are multiple incarnations of the character.|
|Kraid||A large hulking boss creature who first appeared in Metroid. He's one of the many allies of the Space Pirates, and is usually considered a guardian of specific objects in the series. While in most games to date he is huge, he was originally Samus' height.|
|Mother Brain||The primary antagonist of the first Metroid.|
|Ridley||Considered the paramount antagonist of the series. He first appeared in the original Metroid as a secondary boss, though would later become more popular and would take on the role as the final boss through many games. He resembles a dragon of some sort and is allied with the Space Pirates.|
|Samus Aran||The female protagonist of the series. She's appeared in every Metroid game to-date as the playable character. She's guarded by powerful armor created by the Chozo, and is the most famous bounty hunter in the series.|
|Diddy Kong||Donkey Kong's primary sidekick in the series. He first appeared in Donkey Kong Country and went on to star in many other titles.|
|Donkey Kong||The protagonist of the series. He first appeared in Donkey Kong as the antagonist, though would later be a bit more friendly.|
|King Dedede||King Dedede is the antagonist of the Kirby series, though never ends up being the final boss. He wields a large hammer and resembles a sort of penguin.|
|Kirby||The pink star warrior of Dream Land. He's only eight inches tall, though he has an undeniable appetite for everything. Not only that, but he can also "copy" his opponent's abilities.|
|Meta Knight||Meta Knight is a mysterious character and a fan favorite.|
|Captain Falcon||The most notable racer in the series. He first appeared in F-Zero and has ever since been a popular choice among players.|
|Samurai Goroh||Captain Falcon's archenemy. He was disbanded from the police force long ago and has since then become a bounty hunter. He first appeared in F-Zero along with the Falcon.|
|Ike||The protagonist of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. He's a blue haired warrior who'll eventually become the commander of the Greil Mercenaries.|
|Andross||The antagonist of the series.|
|Falco Lombardi||The ace pilot of the Star Fox team. He is seen as arrogant, but is also second in command.|
|Fox McCloud||The protagonist of the series. He first appeared in Star Fox for the SNES, where he was the leader of the team.|
|Pokémon Trainer||There's not an official name for this particular character, whom you'll control. You're allowed to chose his or her name in the series. He or she first appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue for the Game Boy.|
|Lucas||The protagonist of Mother 3. He's a blond haired kid who slightly resembles the characters from the previous games.|
|Ness||The protagonist of Earthbound. He resembles Ninten from Mother, though is actually a different character. His name is a reference to the SNES, the console the game was released on, as it is his name, just rearranged.|
|Ninten||The protagonist of the first game in the series - Mother. His name is a shortened version of "Nintendo".|
|Captain Olimar||The protagonist of the series. He first appeared in Pikmin where his ship crash landed on a mysterious planet (presumed to be Earth). There, he found odd creatures called Pikmin who would help him rebuild his ship so that he could escape the planet.|
|Louie||Louie is Olimar's clumsy partner. He has a big appetite for Pikpik Carrots, thus revealing why he drools at the sight of Pikmin.|
|Tom Nook||The raccoon that runs the store in town.|
|Tortimer||The mayor of town, an elderly turtle, who likes to sleep a lot.|
The silent protagonist of the first Golden Sun. He is a Venus Adept from Vale.
He is a Mars Adept from Vale. He is hot-tempered and acts without thinking. He is first introduced in Golden Sun.
He is a Jupiter Adept from Congito/Kalay. He is sensible, intelligent and balances out Garet. He is the third member of your party in Golden Sun.
She is a Mercury Adept and healer from Imil. She is the last member to join your party in Golden Sun.

|Chibi-Robo||The main playable character is a small robot who lives in a normal sized house. His goal in the game is to tidy up and ultimately blast any potential threat.|
|Jenny||Jenny is a strange girl and the daughter of the Sandersons. She has an abnormal infatuation with frogs.|
|Medusa||The Goddess of Darkness and the main antagonist of the original Kid Icarus|
|Palutena||Palutena is the Goddess of Light and the damsel-in-distress of the series.|
|Pit||The protagonist of the series. He sports two small wings that barely enable him to fly.|
|Little Mac||The main character in the series. He's the smallest fighter, though with the help of Doc he becomes the best.|
