[edit] The Fierce Diety
A unique variation of young Link through the ultimate mask in the Majora's Mask reality, Fierce Diety Link is possibly one of the most powerful character ever created in the Nintendo franchise. Over 7 feet in height this titan can only be used during boss battles in the game. Carrying the powerful Double Helix Sword, this variety of Link can take out any serious opponent in under two to three blows. His sword generates intense energy from the will of the Triforce itself, capable of leveling entire regions to waste. No enemy weak or strong alike can possibly stand against the fury of Fierce Deity Link.
[edit] Game Facts and Glitches
The Gamer can receive the Fierce Diety mask by conversing with the skull kid wearing Majora's Mask. He will grant the mask to you if you want it. Officially this transformed state of Link can only be used during Boss battles. However unofficially, there is a small glitch in the game during the third day timespan where Oni Link can be used outside a Boss battle. When attempting the Retreive the Sun Mask miniquest, the gamer can temporarily turn into Oni Link to battle the adversarries keeping you from the mask. However the moment the miniquest is completed it is wise to reset the game to prevent damage to the game and the N64.
[edit] The Unfinished Myth
The being known as Fierce Diety Link is shrouded in Mystery as to his origins. How can there possibly be this fourth god when all we know of is the three goddesses. In almost no other tale of the Legend Of Zelda is there any other mention of another being like Din, Nayru, or Farore. But though there is no mention vocally of Fierce Deity Link's existence, there are multiple clues to his possible story and true identity. In Ocarina of Time the Hylian Shield has the image of the Tri-Force sitting on top, but on the bottom front of the shield is the image of a bird which seems to be flying away with a fourth section of the Tri-Force clutched in it's Talons. The fourth section possibly belongs to the Fierce Deity, and the bird may be the Fierce Deity himself. It is quite possible that the Fierce Deity refused to join the three Goddesses in their lordship over Hyrule and took his fourth section of that holy talisman with him. Because of this incompletion, evil forces like Ganondorf can always return to cause doom and destruction to the majesty that is Hyrule. It is even more likely that the Fierce Deity is in the cursed shape of a talking bird (Kaepora Gaebora?!) as pennance for stealing the Fourth Section of the Tri-Force and until it is returned he shall remain under this terrible curse. His powers were likely drained and used to create the mask which creates Fierce Deity Link Link. Confusingly enough the Twilight Princess Hylian Shield does not seem to include the same remarkable story.
[edit] Future In The Heavens
So far Oni Link has only made an appearance in The Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask and no where else. The character is simply considered too powerful to be used in any other games. This is a immeasurable dissappointment to the fans who hope that this mysterious figure may once again come to the forefront in the Nintendo franchise. If someone believes that Mewtwo (See Pokemon pages) can be used as a playable character in a video game then there is no reason why the Oni Link should not be used as a playable character in the very near future.
