The Pictograph Box (also known as the Pictobox in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker) is a camera item used briefly in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and for sidequests in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
After recovering Koume the witch from her fall in the woods, she will allow Link to take boat trips around the Swamp. She also gives him the Pictograph Box, which lets you take black-and-white photographs, but it can only store one. If Link takes a good Pictograph, he can exchange it for Rupees or another, free boat ride.
On Windfall Island, Link can obtain a Pictobox, which now allows you to take up to three Pictographs at once, although they are still in black-and-white at first. The Pictobox is not a necessary item in the game, and can be skipped entirely; although it is still helpful in various sidequests. If a ball of light is added to the Pictobox, it will become the Pictobox Deluxe, an improved camera now allowing color photos. The main point of taking Pictographs in color is to get figurines at the Nintendo Gallery located around the Forest Haven.
Also, if Link received a Pictobox Deluxe, if the second quest is played he will start out with having it in his inventory.
- Unlike these items, Cameras such as Nikon, Canon, Kodak, Sony and other brands may take more photos than these pictoboxes. If they were in the game, they would allow Link to take more photos with a higher limit (similar to the unlimited pictographs cheat).
