PikminPluck

Olimar performing Pikmin Pluck.

Pikmin Pluck is Pikmin and Olimar's standard special move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. When you press B, Olimar will pluck a Pikmin out of the ground. The color of the Pikmin will vary, and some will appear on certain stages more often than others. The different types of Pikmin include Red Pikmin, Yellow Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, Purple Pikmin, and White Pikmin, each with their own special abilities reflecting those from the Pikmin video game series.

Captain Olimar can only have six Pikmin out at one time, though if one of them happens to die, then he can pluck another out to fill up his Pikmin count once more. Having the maximum amount of Pikmin will be very positive for Olimar in his fight for survival.

The move returns in this game, but works differently, Olimar plucks them in a fixed cycle (red, yellow, blue, white, purple then back to red) also Olimar can only have 3 Pikmin on the field at once for balancing purposes.

Origin[]

In the Pikmin series, Olimar can pluck pikmin out of the ground, when a seed is nearby. If you let them in the ground long enough, they will turn into flowers, they attack better and run faster, if a Pikmin's flower gets damaged it turns into a bud or leaf.

In Brawl, it's been proven that as flowers they attack a little better, and can take more damage before dyeing, they can't lose flowers in this game. In Brawl they just grow buds and flowers, but in Pikmin and [Pikmin 2]], they need nectar. In Brawl a leaf shows that the Pikmin is fairly new, while a bud means it stayed alive for a deacent time, and a flower shows that itlived for a while.
