PlatinumGames Inc. is an independent video game developer formed in August 2006 by ex-Clover Studio designers. Currently the company has a total of 85 employees, and is becoming very well known among gamers thanks to MadWorld on the Wii and Infinite Space on the Nintendo DS. In 2008, Platinum and SEGA announced an exclusive publishing deal starting with MadWorld. However, after SEGA's finances started to turn sour in 2011, Platinum started working with other publishing partners. In 2012. Nintendo announced a partnership with the company, exclusively publishing The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U. In 2017, Platinum announced that Bayonetta 3 would be a Nintendo Switch exclusive, cementing the partnership between them and Nintendo.
