Appearances

Donkey Kong series

Rambi marks his first appearing in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. Here he served as a riding animal for Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong and also Dixie. In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2, Rambi makes a reappearance and his abilities remain the same, but can do more attacks such as charging into enemies. Rambi does not make an appearance in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III, but was replaced by a new Animal Buddy called Ellie the Elephant.

Rambi made his latest appearance in Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii and fans were even more convinced when a rhino similar in appearance to Rambi appeared on the boxart. Nintendo of America officially revealed that Rambi was going to make an appearance to the press in September of 2010. In Donkey Kong Country Returns, Rambi can withstand all attacks from enemies but will be defeated if he touches fire or falls down a pit.

Super Smash Bros. series

Rambi appeared as a sticker and a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. The following is Rambi's trophy description:

"A rhino friend who appears to help the Kongs in their adventures... from a wooden box, even! His destructive power lets his rider plow through enemies and super-dash to break through walls and other obstacles. Know what that means? It means uncovering more hidden bananas and life balloons."
