Meaning: Big Raven) is a character from the Yoshi series who has also appeared in the Mario series. He is the leader of the Ravens who have been fighting with the Yoshis for centuries. However, following the battle in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Raphael doesn't seem to have a problem with them anymore, as he is a friend of Yoshi in Tetris Attack. Raphael also appeared in Paper Mario, as a friendly character.
The moon where Raphael is fought can be seen on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage, Yoshi's Island.
In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Raphael's sprite has a star on his belly. However, since the star is always the same palette as his skin, it is never seen in-game.
