Rayman is a video game character created by Ubisoft who's games have appeared on many Nintendo consoles such as the SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, The Wii, The DS, The 3DS, DSiWare as well as many other consoles not made by Nintendo. The first Rayman game was released in 1995, by Ubisoft, and was a 2D platformer on the Atari Jaguar, MS DOS, the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn. The game was a massive hit, and there is now many different games, with titles such as Rayman Raving Rabbids, and even Rayman Golf.
The story of the Rayman games is usually something funny, and unusual. The best example is in the latest game, Rayman Raving Rabbids, which is a collection of 70 mini-games for the Wii, based around the Rabbids, strange rabbits, usually attempting to do things that they can't. The Rabbids being so popular, now also have their own series of video games. The latest one is Rabbids Alive and Kicking for Xbox 360 Kinect.
The first enemy of the Rayman series was the sinister Mr. Dark, who captured the Electoons and stole the great Protoon.
