SSX Tricky is a snowboarding video game, the second game in the SSX series published by Electronic Arts under the "EA Sports BIG" label and developed by EA Canada. The game is a sequel to SSX. The game was released in 2001 for PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and Xbox and was later ported to the Game Boy Advance in October 2002.

Gameplay[]

During the races, the characters are capable of attacking the other players. AI will tend to fight those that have contradicting attitudes. As most snowboarding video games are, SSX Tricky features a trick system, though this one is very unique. It includes a special system developed exclusively for the game called the übertrick system (über originating from the German term übermenschen, which in itself was a race). The goal was to rack up your tricky meter that would allow you to perform bigger tricks, go faster and listen to Run-DMC's song "It's Tricky".

In all, there are nine stages, seven from the original SSX video game. The returning stages, however, are all redone and feature an estimated four times the amount of shortcuts than the original. Six of the playable characters also return, while the same amount of new characters join.
