Sandygast(JP) is a species of Pokémon of the series of the same name. It is a Ghost and Ground Pokémon introduced in the seventh generation in Pokémon Sun and Moon. It evolves into Palossand starting at level 42.
Physiology and Behavior
Sandygast is shaped like a simple castle with two smaller piles of sand as arms. It has a big tunnel as a mouth and a couple of stones surrounded by black sand for eyes. A simple kid's red shovel on top of its head to bring in prey. Several small stones are embedded in its body.
Sandygast emerges from the grudges of Pokémon soaked in the sand after they are defeated in battle. Carelessly grabbing its shovel will cause the wielder to fall under Sandygast's control. It uses this power to gather more sand. If it loses its shovel, it will put another item in its place and wander for its shovel. Its tunnel-like mouth can suck vitality of things put in there. It's appently a test of courage in Alola to stick your hand in its mouth.
Sandygast's name is a combination of the word Sandy and Ghast, a word that is commonly used to mean a spirit.
|Pokémon Sun||Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed.|
|Pokémon Moon||It takes control of anyone who puts a hand in its mouth. And so it adds to the accumulation of its sand-mound body.|
