Shigeru Ohmori is a planner and director at Game Freak, and the current main director of the mainline Pokémon series.

History[]

Ohmori has worked on the Pokémon franchise since Ruby and Sapphire, where he worked on game environments and communication features, including the in-game TV events.

He led the planning team of Diamond and Pearl, where he designed the Underground communication feature and supervised many of the new Pokémon evolutions introduced. He later was involved in the design of the Pokéwalker minigames in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

In Black and White, he designed many of the C-Gear features, including the Survey Radar and the Infrared Mode. He also led the planning team of HarmoKnight and X and Y. After X and Y, Ohmori replaced Junichi Masuda as the main director of the series, directing Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Sun and Moon, Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet, while simultaneously acting as producer on other Pokémon titles.
