Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked is a 2011 remake of the 2009 Nintendo DS game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor for the Nintendo 3DS. The Devil Survivor series is a tactical RPG spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series when the player controls a number of Devil Summoners as they fend off the apocalypse.

In addition to enhanced art and voice acting for almost all the dialogue, there are several gameplay improvements as well.

Gameplay changes[]

The main addition in this remake is the addition of story of the 8th day of the game's plot.

There are also over 20 new demons to be recruited including more powerful demons from the races of Fairy and Beast to feasibly use in the endgame. The Demon Compendium, a feature in several Shin Megami Tensei games, makes an appearance here, allowing players to register and resummon their custom demons rather than repurchase them from auctions

Additional skills have been implemented, including a larger variety of Physical skills to encourage use of strength-oriented playable characters. Training team leaders has also become less of a hassle as, like in Devil Survivor 2, all team leaders, active or not, receive some EXP when one team wins a battle. The Watchful and Vigilant skills, when cracked and assigned, can boost the EXP gain to speed up the leveling of those behind in levels.

A new title and reward system also is implented to reward good performance during the game and unlock post-game bonuses. There are also difficulty levels.

3DS eShop Description[]

Expanded and enhanced, Devil Survivor Overclocked for Nintendo 3DS builds upon the game's original release with the addition of voice acting for the entirety of the game's lengthy, unconventional narrative.

Moreover, that very story, already boasting multiple endings based on critical decisions by the player, now concludes with a special eighth chapter, a rousing epilogue for Shin Megami Tensei fans.

The game's beautifully remastered hand drawn artwork and character portraits benefit from the new system's higher resolution screens, offering players a crisper, higher fidelity experience.
