The Shot Racer.

The Shot Racer was released by Nintendo in 1974 in Japan. The product was actually first released in the United States by Hasbro, though Hiroshi Yamauchi, then president of Nintendo, managed to get the licensing rights to release it in Japan. The product, which cost ¥3,500, was popular thanks in part to the commercial which Nintendo aired on television. The Shot Racer included a gun which would shoot cars on the floor. The goal was to knock down the target (which came packaged with the Shot Racer) with the vehicle. The target rolls back and fourth on a ramp, making it harder to hit. In the commercial, the child situated his gun on the floor and launched the car. The camera trailed the vehicle up to the target, but just before they connected the commercial ended.
