Smashmatic is an old mechanical arcade game released sometime in the seventies by Nintendo. The game is basically a unique spin on table tennis. Each player controls a table tennis paddle that is connected to the main piece of hardware. They don't actually touch the paddles. Rather, they are able to control them via a button that makes them go forward and a lever that changes their position (by sliding it across the player's side the table). In the center of the table is a long pole that the ball is connected to. The goal is to get the ball past the other player's paddle. It can be challenging to hit the ball due to its erratic behavior. A game will finish after a player gets 9 points or when the six minute timer is up.
