Star Fox Assault is a game for the Gamecube that came out in 2005, and was Developed by Namco, and published by Nintendo. It is the sequel to Star Fox Adventures, on the account that Krystal makes a playable appearance. The game was rumored to turn into an arcade game after it was released, but Namco never released it.

Star Fox: Assault features three main ways to play - Arwing, Landmaster, and on foot. It also marks the return to the traditional Star Fox format after the very different Star Fox Adventures.

• Fox McCloud- the main protagonist. Capable of using an Arwing in flying missions and a Landmaster in ground missions when not on foot. While on foot, he can use various weapons.
• Peppy Hare- An advisor to the Star Fox Team, who tells the player how to perform skills and helps strategize.
• General Pepper- The commander of the Star Fox team, who gives orders to the players on their mission.
• Falco- a tough falcon with a New York accent who accompanies Fox on his missions who is also the teams best arwing pilot.
• Slippy Toad- a clumsy toad who accompanies Fox on his missions, but is always getting into trouble even though an expert driver of the landmaster.
• Krystal- debuted in Star Fox Adventures. A logical British fox who accompanies Fox on his missions.

• Andrew Oikonny- claimed descendant of Andross, his uncl who left starwolf to step into his uncles footsteps.
• Wolf O'Donnell- the leader of Star Wolf, who rivals Fox and his team.
• Panther Caroso- a recently joined member of Star Wolf who flirts continuisly to krystal.
• Leon Powalski- a chameleon who is also a member of Star Wolf who is wolfs right-hand man.
• Pigma- a recently kicked money hungrey pig who was kicked out of starwolf due to lack of comunication and loalty to wolf.
• Aparoids- various robotic enemies throughout each planet and the main enimies of the game

The game was highly panned by critics, mostly criticizing the controls. Regardless, it became a bestseller and was re-released under the Player's Choice label.
