|Series||Mega Man X|
|First game||Mega Man X|
Sting Chameleon is one of the eight Mavericks and a boss designed to resemble a chameleon from the first Mega Man X game. He is a Maverick Hunter in charge of the ninth Special Forces under Sigma.
Sting Chameleon will be difficult to beat without his weakness. First, he'll use his tongue to reach the ceiling and shake to create a flood of needles, making the entire room shake. Chameleon will also shoot spikes from his tail and fire at Mega Man X. He must dodge the middle one to make it easy. He'll also be invisible to see and make it difficult for X to find. When he's near X, he'll use his tongue at X. His weakness is Boomerang Cutter, but it doesn't cut off his tail as it cuts off Launch Octopus' tentacles and Flame Mammoth's trunk. Chameleon will repeat again.
Sting Chameleon was the third Maverick X fights in the manga, Rockman X.
Dr. Doppler revives Sting Chameleon in the manga, Rockman X Mega Mission, unlike Dr. Wily reviving his other classic Mega Man series Robot Masters.
In the manga, Rockman Remix, Sting Chameleon attacks X with Storm Eagle and Flame Mammoth.
- This is ironic that Chameleon Sting is his greatest weakness against Storm Eagle that his weakness is Boomerang Cutter that's also Boomer Kuwanger's weapon, since that chameleons eat insects and eagles eat chameleons.
- When Mega Man X is at the optional area of his stage after defeating the sub-boss, RT-55J, a capsule will appear. He'll receive the armor from Dr. Light. After X received it, the rocks will go away.
- Sting Chameleon and Boomer Kuwanger are the only Mavericks to not appear in the Xtreme series.
