Stone Chomps are types of Chain Chomps that appear in Paper Mario in the area Dry Dry Ruins. They attack Mario if he tries to steal an artifact from the desert. They can surprise Mario by jumping out of a ceiling. They are said to not be actual Chain Chomps, but Chomp Rocks that are built to honor the Chain Chomps.
