Stumpy was the mascot of the annual Nintendo of America event Camp Hyrule. He was a horse with a yellow mane and tail. Some of the games present at Camp Hyrule featured Stumpy (such as the one in the image to the right, where the player must feed him). At several Camp Hyrules was a section called "Stumpy's Stable" where people could play games (Stumpy's Stable is also the horse's residence).
Camp Hyrule chatEdit
Occasionally during Camp Hyrule chats, an NOA employee under the name "Stumpy" would in the middle of a chat with NOA or Nintendo Power employees say the following:
The following is an example of it happening:
NOA_STEVE: E3's a lot of fun, but it's been increasingly more difficult to do our jobs as it keeps getting more and more crowded.
NOA_PETE: Well, since I've never had the honor of going to the "old-school" E3, it makes me a little sad, but overall I think it's good for the industry.
NOA_CHRIS: Waaaa pete.
NOA_ANDY: Chat with Mr. Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario. The show starts in 17 minutes!
NOA_ANDY: Chat with Mr. Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario. The show starts in 9 minutes!
NOA_ANDY: Chat with Mr. Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario. The show starts in 5 minutes!
At the end of Camp Hyrule 2006, Nintendo of America gave awards to certain people who participated in the event. One of the awards was titled the Stumpy Award, which was awarded to "the camper most knowledgeable about Camp Hyrule history". The first place winner was Jusdberube, second place winner was Rhine, and the third place winner was Wizard_Anon. After the winners were announced, NOA_Andy said "I think Stumpy is off asleep somewhere ... I'm sure he would neigh in approval, Jus. He might even snort or something. I think he has an upset stomach, though. Who was feeding him all that pizza!"
