Sudowoodo (JP) is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a Rock Pokémon that made its first appearance in the second generation games Gold and Silver. It evolves from Bonsly when leveled up while knowing Mimic. It breeds for Bonsly when holding a Rock Incense.

Physiology and Behaviour

Appearances

Main Pokémon games

Sudowoodo first appeared in Pokémon Gold and Silver as a Pokémon that could be obtained by watering an odd shaped "tree" that ends up actually being Sudowoodo disguised as one. It retained this role in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In Pokémon Sun and Moon, they act as a roadblock on Akala Island before the player completes the Water Trial and flee when Lana shows off her Waterium Z

Other Pokémon games

Super Smash Bros. series

A float of Sudowoodo appeared in the Super Smash Bros. Melee stage Poké Floats. It also appeared as a trophy, the description of which can be seen bellow:

Trophy descriptions

"A copycat Pokémon with an aversion to battle, Sudowoodo always poses as a tree in order to avoid being attacked. Despite their arboreal appearance, these Pokémon are actually Rock-types, and therefore highly vulnerable to water. When it begins to rain, they vanish. Sudowoodo can be found blocking Route 36 in Johto."

In the anime

Brock's Bonsly evolved into one in the 14th of the Diamond and Pearl series.
