Swords are a major part of the Legend of Zelda series, and are Link's main weapon. Over the years, Link has acquired many different types of swords.

Wooden Sword

The Wooden Sword debuted in The Legend of Zelda as simply the "sword". It is the weakest and most basic sword in the series. Since it is wooden, it can be burned. It is also Link's first sword in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

White Sword

The White Sword is the first sword upgrade in The Legend of Zelda. It is more powerful than the Wooden Sword. It has not been seen since the first game, and may have evolved into the Kokiri Sword.

Magical Sword

The final sword upgrade in the The Legend of Zelda. It is speculated that it may have evolved into the Master Sword.

Projectile Sword

In the original Legend of Zelda, Link's sword had the ability to shoot projectiles at enemies if Link had full health. In A Link to the Past, only the Master Sword was capable of this, but still if Link was at full health. This ability also appears in Zelda II and the Legend of Zelda cartoon.

Kokiri Sword

Link's first sword in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Unlike the Wooden Sword, it is made of metal and cannot burn.

Master Sword

The legendary "Sword of Evil's Bane", acquired in almost every game. It is the most powerful sword in most games, but not as powerful as the Goron Sword. In Ocarina of Time, only Adult Link can wield it.

Biggoron's Sword

A large, powerful, and heavy sword given to Link by the Gorons in Ocarina of Time. It is more powerful than the Master Sword, and is acquired in a sidequest. Only adult Link can wield it.
