Takashi Kawaguchi is a former producer and public relations manager at Nintendo. He was one of the key figures in the foundation of Shigesato Itoi's Ape, Inc., which would allow external developers to create games for Nintendo.
After Pokémon became a worldwide phenomenon, Kawaguchi became one of the main product supervisors of the franchise (along Tsunekazu Ishihara) covering aspects like the anime series and various merchandise.
According to the 2020 Gigaleak, Kawaguchi left Nintendo sometime before September 2006.
