Takaya Imamura is a director and producer of Nintendo, mostly known for his involvement in the design of the F-Zero and Star Fox series, and the creation of characters such as Captain Falcon, Fox McCloud and Tingle. He was formerly involved in the EAD Group 5.

He joined the company in 1989 as a graphic artist and initially worked on F-Zero, where he designed the cars, the pilot racers and the comic that appeared in the game manual. Afterwards he also worked on Star Fox, where he handled non-polygonal graphics and character design (including all of the members of the Star Fox team). He was also the art director of the Nintendo 64 iterations of those titles, and eventually became the main supervisor of both series.

Imamura has also worked on other titles such us The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the Steel Diver series (where he also drew the captains) and Tank Troopers.
