Tecmo

From the Nintendo Wiki, your gateway to information on everything Nintendo

Tecmo is a Japanese company known for great Nintendo classic games such as Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Super Bowl. Originally known as Tehkan Ltd, their name was changed in 1986 to it's current name of Tecmo, Ltd. 2008 was a major year for Tecmo: Not only did their primary designer, Tomonobu Itagaki, quit due to legal disputes, but in August of the year Square Enix offered to purchase the company, similar to how they did in 2005 with Taito. Tecmo has yet to respond to the offer, though must do so by September 4th.
