Togekiss(JP) is a species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a dual-type Fairy/Flying Pokémon that made its first appearance in the fourth generation games Diamond and Pearl. It evolves from Togetic when given a Shiny Stone. It was originally a Normal instead of Fairy type.
Physiology and Behavior[]
Togekiss is a white, avian Pokémon with an ovoid body. While its feet are small and situated closely together, its wings are broad and triangular. Red and blue triangular markings over its underside, and it has a short tail consisting of three feathers. On the back of its head are three spikes: a red-tipped one on the right, a blue-tipped one on the left, and a pure white one in the middle. Togekiss has a relatively flat face and small, black eyes.
Togekiss have long been known worldwide as bringers of blessings, being depicted on good-luck charms since ancient times. However, they only appear in peaceful places and have never been witnessed anywhere near conflict or turmoil, making their recent sightings exceptionally rare. It shares many kind gifts and sweet blessings when it visits peaceful places or sees people who avoid strife and respect the rights of others.

In the anime[]
Togekiss made her anime debut in Dawn of a Royal Day!, originally under the ownership of Princess Salvia. Salvia wanted to enter a Pokémon Contest but could not due to her royal obligations. Therefore, she swapped places with Dawn for a day and entered the Arrowroot Contest with Togekiss. After winning, she gave Togekiss to Dawn as a gift as she felt the Jubilee Pokémon would be better off with a traveling Coordinator.
In Pokkén Tournament[]
Togekiss can be used as an assist in Pokkén Tournament.
Origin and inspiration[]
Togekiss appears to be based on fairies and birds. Its white color and association with peace suggest inspiration from doves, while its triangular belly markings are similar to a snowy owl. Its reputation for sharing blessings is reminiscent of angels. Like its pre-evolutions, its round body resembles an egg. Its rigid, triangular wings are also reminiscent of a flying wing.
