Tortimer Island is a location in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, mainly as a lobby for some multiplayer activities. It also became a stage in the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.

Animal Crossing[]

Tortimer Island in itself is relatively small, with only a couple trees and bushes. The trees themselves tend to have fruit exclusive to the islands and the island is eternally in Summer so the most of the most valuable bugs and fish are not that hard to get here.

In addition, the island has a hut run by with Kapp'n's family. On the left side of the hut is Leilani, who runs the tours as well as trips back to the mainland. Tours are multiplayer minigames where players compete against each other to try to get the highest score. Scoring high will reward the player with more medals, the main currency of the island. Grams runs the shop on the right where the player can pay medals to get exclusive items only found here. Buying Club Tortimer here will grant further exclusive items and the ability to play with strangers over the internet. Finally, there is Leila, who will buy whatever things the player finds on the island, but at 5% of their typical sale price.

Tortimer Island first appears after the player spends a couple days after he pays off his first loan. Tortimer appears on the pier wanting to show the player his island now that he is retired. This trip is forced to be single-player.

Super Smash Bros.[]

The stage appeared first in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as the Animal Crossing stage for the game.

Stage Elements[]

The stage is relatively simple but, with a randomized layout each time.

Music[]

  • Tortimer Island Medley
  • Kapp'n's Song

Trophy Description[]

Take a ride on Kapp'n's boat to reach this tropical island, home to fish, insects, and fruit you can't find anywhere else. Tortimer's tours are also available here. Eat the fruit on this stage to reduce your damage, but keep an eye out for the occasional bomb in the mix too!
