Unkown Families

The Unknown Family are creatures with no known family in the Pikmin series for the Nintendo GameCube and New Play Control! for the Wii. Some of them are harmless and some are harmful.

Strategy

Olimar should the blues to attack the egg and the Smoky Progg will come out. It's impossible to defeat it without losing any of his Pikmin. Olimar must throw Pikmin at its head, but not at the back as the path will put them to death. As a Swooping Snitchbug is by it, Olimar must kill the Progg, but if it snatches the Pikmin, Olimar should avoid it and throw Pikmin at the Swooping Snitchbug. Destroying it produces a hundred Pikmin.

Another way is to bring in the Yellow Pikmin and they must pick up the Bomb Rocks. The bombers must aim well and shouldn't hit the Progg on the rear end.

Strategy

Touching the slime would cause Olimar to be damaged. A Pikmin will die if it touches it; a Blue Pikmin will break the slim and hit the blue nucleus. It will repeat the pattteren all over again. Olimar shouldn't underestimate it, as it could be a threat.

Pikmin 2

A Mamuta cannot defeat a Pikmin, but it can pound the trooper into the ground with its heavy arms. In fact, one rock beast can bury several Pikmin with a single blow. After you defeat the Mamuta with flying attacks, be sure to pluck your buddies from the soil; their tops will be in full bloom.

Strategy

Pikmin

It is not very difficult to defeat a Mamuta. It WILL NOT attack you or your pikmin unless you attack first, so you can walk around it. However if you want to attack it, simply c-stick charge it from behind and it dies pretty quickly. Do not bother using bomb rocks on it, because they do hardly any damage. If it smashes all your pikmin into the ground just go and get more from the onion if you can, or pull them up and try again.

Pikmin 2

Mamuta are found only in underground. It's a good idea to kill it quickly with purples. If there are Unmarked Spectralids in Hole of Heroes behind it, Olimar should kill it first then the Unmarked Spectralids. If an Iridescent Glint Beetle is near it, Olimar should pound it first and then kill it.
