Hiya there! I'm Bentendo, the admin/owner of the Nintendo Wikia. I'm a mega Nintendo fan and have been one since the SNES/N64 days. The first video game I've ever played was Super Mario World on the SNES, and I still consider it one of my favorite video games.
Just a quick note for everyone - I probably won't be able to write any articles during any Sunday unless I'm lucky. Thanks for understanding!

[edit] Name
I was thinking back to when I first used the name Bentendo. When you think about it, it's a terrible nickname. Very silly and easy to come up with. I took on the name long before I was even remotely interested in Wikis (probably before Wikipedia even existed) or forums or even the internet. I used to doodle when I was a kid and made my own little Mario and Pokémon encyclopedias and titled them Bentendo (guess what my real name is!). After that I started using the nickname when I joined forums years ago, and thought it was easy to remember so I stuck with it. Whenever Bentendo is taken I just use either Bentendo24 or RoboticBuddy.
[edit] Video game interests
Looking at my list of video games you'll see that I'm interested in a wide variety of genres. It'd be best to ask me what genres I don't like rather than which ones I do - as the former would result in a much shorter and accessible list! So, to answer that question, I'm not too fond of sports titles - specifically ones made by Electronic Arts. These aren't exactly bad games, and they sure do appease their target audience, though after playing one version of it I just feel like I've played them all. Each new installment rarely includes anything noteworthy, and being someone who doesn't care very much about sports, and someone who can barely name any athletes, I just don't find these games very fun.
Next in line are fighting games. Now, don't get me wrong - they can be fun, though the only one I've ever really gotten into are the Smash Bros. titles, and I'd say that part of the reason I like that series so much is for the cast! Plus, Smash Bros. is, I hate to say it, not really a fighting game in the likes of Soul Calibur, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Rather, it's sort of like a party game - and surely the best one out there!
Finally the last genre that I don't like are real life vehicle simulations that have to controlling planes and boats and what not. They're just very boring. I can see why some people would like it, just like I can see why some people would like fighting and sports games, though the audience it's directed to I'd say is very exclusive.
Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about what I do like! My favorite genres include role-playing games, platformers, puzzle titles and action adventures - though the latter one is hard to find a good game in. My favorite series includes the likes of Mario, The Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy, though you'd be hard pressed to find a major series that I don't like (that aren't included in the fighting, sports or vehicle simulation genres!). Some games that I don't like include Tomb Raider (the games I've rented are just terrible!), Advance Wars (odd considering how much I like the tactical RPG genre, specifically Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics), and the Wii series.
There are lots of games I'm indifferent about. One of the major titles that fit in this category include the Dragon Quest series. Whereas Final Fantasy has continued to innovate over the years, each Dragon Quest title seems to be the same to me. The new DS title was supposedly going to reinvent the series, though Japanese gamers got all ticked off and ruined what could have potentially been a superb title, now it may or may not just be sublime at best! I understand that the Japanese gamers have a craving for traditional games, though it's time to innovate! I mean it's hard for me to play Dragon Quest VIII for PS2 when Final Fantasy X and XII are just so much better!
