This month's featured article is Super Smash Bros.. This month marks the release of the fifth Super Smash Bros. game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The game contains 75 playable characters characters from across a number of Nintendo series and a lot of guests characters that are considered to be icons of gaming in general, over a hundred stages and an absurd amount of musics but the first Smash Bros. game was far from that. With its full roster of 12 playable character and a very huge deal its very limited number of stages, it seems to be very far from what someone would expect when you say "Super Smash Bros.", it was a very huge deal at the time, however, as it marked the first time Nintendo let multiple of its greatest franchise have a proper crossover with one another. This game success led to the creation of Super Smash Bros. Melee, a more ambitious game with a lot more characters than 64. Every game after that grew more ambitious in their rosters and the series eventually managed to have legendary guest characters joining the rosters, which served to raise the purpose of the series from a simple crossover fighting game to some sort of museum of Nintendo's history.
