Samus' Varia Suit in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

The Varia Suit is a suit Samus Aran wears in the Metroid series. Generally considered her trademark suit, the Varia Suit is different in appearance from the standard Power Suit in that it adds two, sphere shaped shoulder pads to the suit (Metroid II: Return of Samus onwards).

Metroid series

The Varia Suit has appeared in nearly every Metroid game including Metroid (and Metroid: Zero Mission), Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid: Other M. The Varia Suit grants Samus new abilities such as speed increases (Metroid II), damage reduction, and heat resistance.

Super Smash Bros. series

Samus' standard costume in Super Smash Bros., Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the Varia Suit. Players can alter the color of the suit if they wish. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a trophy is dedicated specifically to the Varia Suit.

The following is the trophy description for the Varia Suit in Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

"A suit with a higher level of protection than the Power Suit. It eliminates damage caused by very hot or cold areas. It is also more resilient to enemy attacks than the Power Suit and greatly differs in shoulder design. Recent visual depictions of Samus often show her wearing the Varia Suit."

This is from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS:

"When most people think of Samus, they think of her wearing the Varia Suit. It not only grants her power far beyond her own physical strength but also can unleash a deadly array of beams from the Arm Cannon. And, in a feature quite unique to the Metroid series, it lets her morph into a ball instead of having to crawl!"

Animal Crossing series

The Varia Suit is an article of clothing in the Wii video game Animal Crossing: City Folk. The Varia Suit could be obtained at Tom Nook's shop after obtaining 5,000 points. It was among three Nintendo themed items that could be obtained at Nooks for reaching 5,000 points, the others being Hero's Clothes (Link's clothing), and Wario's hat. Other Metroid related objects in City Folk included a Metroid in a containment tube and Samus' helmet (the latter meaning to go along with the Varia Suit).
