Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars is a sports game (focused on ice hockey) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was only released in North America. It is licensed by the National Hockey League Player's Association and officially endorsed by former hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
Gameplay[]
There are six different options on the main menu: Just Play, Exhibition Game, Practice, Tourney/Season, View/Edit Stats, and Settings. Along with season play, the gamer can also play in international tournaments.
As in the real-world sport of hockey, the object is to score more goals than the opposing team to win the game.
Teams[]
Since the game is licensed by the NHLPA, but not the actual league itself, all real-world NHL players names and numbers are used in the game, but not the team names. The league teams are only represented by cities.
Box Art[]
The box art for the game has various still shots of Wayne Gretzky in different exhibition game jerseys from the lockout season the previous year.
