Weapon Shop de Omasse is a 3DS eShop game from Level-5 where the player is a weapon shop owner and rents out weapons for various heroes who are saving the world in various ways. The game was written in part by comedian, Yoshiyuki Hirai.

Gameplay[]

Crafting Weapons[]

To sell weapons, the player must first craft them. There are a large array of weapons that the player can create with more accessed once the player completes certain main quests. Higher level weapons require more expensive material, some of which are brought in by quests.

The actually crafting of each weapon is a rhythm game where the player taps on the chunk of metal to forge it into the weapon. The weapon is constantly being cooled, but has the greatest stat boosts when it is hit in the yellow temperature zone and when it is hit in time with the beat. When the player wants to cool the meta, he can tap the water icon in the bottom left. The bottom right icon is the coal to heat up the weapon when it gets too cold but if the player takes too long, the weapon may not be durable. Once it is finished being forged, it is required to be completely cooled before it is done. Higher level weapons have more challenging beats, shorter yellow zones and more hits before it is forged.

Renting & Grindcast[]

Weapons[]

There are Daggers, Swords, Blades, Axes, Clubs, Spears as well as Katana and Dao. The last two can be attributes of other weapons types as well. They do not distinctly follow any stat patterns but rather gain a boost if a character with an affinity with a weapon type.

3DS eShop Description[]

From the mind of comedian Yoshiyuki Hirai comes WEAPON SHOP de OMASSE, a humorous twist on the classic fantasy adventure.

You are Yuhan, an apprentice in a weapon rental shop inside an RPG. It's your job to forge and rent weapons to the seven misfit heroes and various NPCs that come your way.

Why rental? Sure, there's a risk that a hero will fail their quest and lose your weapon, but if they succeed, you'll get your weapon back, get paid, and earn a returning customer. With the dreaded Evil Lord's return looking nigh, it wouldn't hurt to have more well-equipped heroes running around, either...

Match your customer to a weapon and forge it to the rhythm! Tap your Nintendo 3DS in time with the music, balance the heat of your materials, and make sure that your hammer strikes true to create a weapon that really shines.

Follow your customers' adventures on the "Grindcast," a special feed built into each weapon that sends every encounter, discovery, and conversation it hears back to you!

Reception[]

The game received mixed reviews.
