Weezing (マタドガス, Matadogas) is one of the 649 species of Pokémon in the series of the same name. It is a Poison Pokémon that made its first appearance in the first generation games Red and Blue.

Main Pokémon gamesEdit

Weezing first appeared in the first generation of Pokémon games (the first games of which include Pokémon Red and Green in Japan and Pokémon Red and Blue elsewhere). Weezing evolves from Koffing when that Pokémon reaches level 35. Weezing is different from Koffing by being larger and having an extra, smaller head. Weezing can be obtainable in every single Pokémon game, and can be caught in the wild in the first generation games, Pokémon Crystal, Pokémon FireRed, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Platinum and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. In other games it can be obtainable by receiving one through a trade or by leveling up Koffing. Weezing was the principal species in the anime episode James' Weezing.

Super Smash Bros. seriesEdit

Weezing made several appearances in the GameCube video game Super Smash Bros. Melee as a Poké Ball Pokémon, as a stage element in Poké Floats, and as an obtainable trophy. As a summonable Pokémon, Weezing will stay in place and will emit poisonous gas that will harm the summoner's opponents. The following is Weezing's trophy description in Super Smash Bros. Melee:

"The evolved form of Koffing, Weezing is basically a pair of Koffing fused together. They tend to float in the air and emit gas or noxious smoke from the outgrowths that cover their bodies. As strange as it may seem, diluting Weezing emissions as much as possible creates one of the most exquisite perfumes known to man."

Pokémon Ruby	Weezing loves the gases given off by rotted kitchen garbage. This Pokémon will find a dirty, unkept house and make it its home. At night, when the people in the house are asleep, it will go through the trash.
Pokémon Sapphire	Weezing alternately shrinks and inflates its twin bodies to mix together toxic gases inside. The more the gases are mixed, the more powerful the toxins become. The Pokémon also becomes more putrid.
Pokémon Emerald	By diluting its toxic gases with a special process, the highest grade of perfume can be extracted. To Weezing, gases emanating from garbage are the ultimate feast.
Pokémon FireRed	Very rarely, a sudden mutation can result in two small Koffing twins becoming conjoined as a Weezing.
Pokémon LeafGreen	Where two kinds of poison gases meet, two Koffings can fuse into a Weezing over many years.
