Whomp

A Whomp is an enemy in the Mario Series. Their first appearance was in the game Super Mario 64 for the N64, where they even had a course named after them. There only attack is to crash down on you when you are under them, once they do that, Mario was able to jump on his back to do a ground pound to defeat him. The leader of the species is Big Whomp, whom tried to kill Mario on top of Whomp's Fortress. Soon after the game, they appeared as an enemy in many other Mario games.
