Wii Mini is a smaller redesign of the Wii. Multiple features have been removed to reduce the price. It was announced by Nintendo of Canada, though it was heavily rumored before the announcement. It was first released in Canada on December 7, 2012, and it came with a red Wii Remote Plus and a red Nunchuk controller.[1]

Removed features

Internet capabilities, GameCube controller and memory card ports, and the ability to read GameCube games were removed, and it is no longer possible to play in enhanced-definition (480p). The Wii Mini has its own version of the Wii's system software, with the settings menu modified to remove features not supported by the Wii Mini.
