Wrecking Crew (Smash)
Series Super Smash Bros.
First game Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Wrecking Crew is a stage for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U based on the game Wrecking Crew.

Stage Elements

The stage works a lot like the game. There is a base level that never gets destroyed and 4 or 5 levels with walls, bombs and barrels. The bombs only appear on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels and exploding bombs and destroying all the walls results in the floor being destroyed and the floors above to fill their place. A new floor is spawned in at the top as well.

The background is a plain city and the platforms is a modern interpretation of the game field in Wrecking Crew unlike other retro stages, which use the original art more directly.

Music

The bolded tracks must be unlocked while the italicized tracks indicate it is returning from a past game

Wii U

  • Wrecking Crew Medley
  • Wrecking Crew Retro Medley
  • Balloon Fight Medley
  • Ice Climber
  • Icicle Mountain
  • Stack-Up/Gyromite
  • Mach Rider
  • Lip's Theme (Panel de Pon)

Origin

The origin is the original game Wrecking Crew where the goal of the game was to clear as many floors of a skyscraper as possible by triggering bombs at the right location and avoiding the enemies. The game indirectly starred Mario and Luigi in different clothes than before.

Usage

R.O.B. is fought here to unlock him

Trivia

  • Unlike other Retro stages, this stage is a modern interpretation rather than a 3D version of the original sprites
