Yūyūki (遊遊記) is a Famicom Disk System video game released exclusively in Japan by Nintendo and Pax Softnica. The game is a command based game similar to Pax Softnica's previous game Shin Onigashima, also for the Famicom Disk System. The game was separated by two disks, which were released within a month of each other. It's an adventure game staring Goku, a monkey king who was destined to travel west. On his adventure, he meets up with multiple different, distinctive characters, none of which are members of the same species. The English translation for the game is Brave Brave Spirit.

Legacy

Yūyūki has been referenced in several other Nintendo video games. In the Japanese version of Kirby's Dream Land 2, Chao from this game appears and offers Kirby an extra life. The sound test scene in the game also references Yūyūki. Yūyūki is once again referenced in the Kirby series, in the SNES video game Kirby's Dream Land 3, where both Chao and Goku appear. In Daigasso! Band Brothers DX, a theme from the game is played when the player chooses the Synth Bell.
